Lyrics
Hi, I'm trouble
Livin' life bare knuckle
Been a knock down drag out life
God, I know the shape I'm in
Been down this road before
I know they say that I'm a sin but I don't care anymore
I'm a Lucky with no filter
All I got's this guitar
Lost a battle with a bottle
(It's an ongoing war)
I own my addictions
Make my own benedictions
Don't go looking for trouble; it just followed me home
Hi, I'm trouble
Go on pour me a double
I ain't one to behave
Just me and my shadow
And that's old hat by now
Hot like a pistol; I keep shootin' off my mouth
I'm a straight shot of moonshine
Fresh out the still
Don't come with no chaser
Like a damned bitter pill
To hell with the consequence
Ain't paid no mind to 'em yet
I don't borrow trouble but it still follows me around
Fingers on the frets
It's as real as it gets
Every word to every song a confession, I guess
If you want the truth, well, honey, here it is:
Hi, I'm trouble
Navigating your hustle
Sorry if I called a spade a spade
If the truth comes uneasy
You'll blame me, no doubt
But there ain't no evidence and the jury's still out
I'm a two AM phone call
Lead foot with no brakes
I might never get to heaven
But I own my mistakes
You show no mercy
So I'm fightin' dirty
You call me trouble so you don't have to deal with yourself

BEHIND THE MUSIC
Hi, I'm Trouble
I've been called a whole lot of things in my time, but I've most often been described as some variant of "trouble," so I am just taking that title and keeping it for myself, defining what it means, and OWNING IT.
Turns out, people don't like that, either.
I suppose that people think that someone who is regularly called "trouble" is probably an actual troublemaker, but that was never true for me. I tried to stay out of people's way and abide by the rules, but I also expected that I would get the same deference and that people would let me be who I am as long as I wasn't bothering anybody.
BOY, WAS I WRONG!
